Workshop 7:

Present Moment Awareness

I believe the ability to be present, even for just a few seconds at a time, is the single most important tool for experiencing more pleasure in your body. The connection between presence and pleasure will become more vivid as we progress in this program. Cultivating presence is a practice. But it doesn’t have to require long hours of silent meditation, “clearing the mind” or have anything to do with breathing. There are a million creative ways to do this. I am here to show you that cultivating presence can be easeful, accessible and joyous.


In this workshop I demonstrate:

  • A 5 Finger Breath Meditation

  • Candle Gazing

  • Movement Meditation (seated and standing)

  • Mindful Dancing

  • Self-Massage Meditation

  • Mindful Drinking

  • Mindful Eating

  • Mindful Showering

HomePlay Assignment:

Pick one or two exercises that you enjoyed. Hold yourself accountable for practicing one exercise for 1 minute each day for the next 7 days. Pick a time of day that feels most doable for you. If its helpful, put a reminder on your phone or mark it down in your daily calendar.
